Hinsdale dental sedationMake your next dental procedure a day at the beach!

At Hinsdale Dentistry, we believe that your dental care can be a positive part of your day. If you have dental anxiety, we know that sounds like an impossibility. But sedation really does transform the patient experience. If you’ve never tried sedation dentistry, we urge you to learn more about your options. There’s sedation that will work for you, no matter how nervous you get in the office. All you have to do is ask for some help.

Talking About Your Dental Anxiety

We know how difficult it can be to voice your fears. But dental anxiety is nothing to be ashamed of – it affects countless patients of all ages, and prevents them from getting the care they need. Don’t let your health fall by the wayside. If you open up to us about your anxiety, we’ll be better able to provide the right type of sedation and treatment options. Between our gentle approach to your care, advanced dental lasers, and our welcoming staff, patients find their time at our office a breath of fresh air.

Which Sedation Option To Choose

Before you receive sedation, we’ll talk through your needs and make a recommendation. These are the sedation options you can expect from our practice:

  • Oral conscious – This comes in the form of a tablet that you place beneath your tongue. The medication is absorbed into the bloodstream, and takes effect in the hour or so afterwards. While this takes longer than options like IV sedation, it also wears off more quickly, and there’s no need to deal with needles.
  • Nitrous – Nitrous oxide is one of the longest-standing forms of dental sedation. It is inhaled as a mixture with oxygen, and its effects wear off quickly after your procedure.
  • NuCalm – NuCalm is unique to our practice, and offers a drug-free alternative to standard sedation. It is safe to drive yourself home after receiving NuCalm, which makes it a great alternative to other forms.
